The Honorable Laurie A. Clark
Board Director, National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges
Judge Clark was appointed to the Denver Juvenile Court in November 2013 by Governor Hickenlooper. She was appointed to the bench in Adams County by Chief Judge Phelps as a 17 Judicial District Magistrate with primarily a domestic relations docket in October 2011. Prior to becoming a Judicial Officer, Judge Clark owned a law firm focusing on juvenile and domestic law for 7 years, working as a private attorney, Guardian ad litem, Child Legal Representative, Parenting Coordinator/Decision Maker, and Child & Family Investigator.
Judge Clark co-wrote the curriculum and taught the training for the mandatory 40 hour Child & Family Investigator training in 2012 and 2013. Judge Clark is an Adjunct Professor at University of Denver Sturm College of Law teaching Family Law, Advanced Family Law, and Juvenile Law. Judge Clark presents on many legal issues related to domestic relations and juvenile law to attorneys, judicial officers, and other professional throughout the United States and internationally.
