Through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) funding, the NCJFCJ’s Implementation Sites Project provides specialized training and technical assistance to help integrate best practices as outlined in the Enhanced Resource Guidelines: Improving Court Practice in Child Abuse and Neglect Cases.
The Implementation Sites Project seeks to improve outcomes for children in care through guiding lead judges and collaborative team members in assessing current practices, gathering data, measuring performance, and participating in ongoing training opportunities.
In late 2014, eight sites were selected to participate in the project. These jurisdictions are dedicated to implementing the infrastructure pioneered by the Model Courts project which includes the development of a judicially-led collaborative seeking to implement systems change efforts to improve the child abuse and neglect case process and, ultimately, improve safety, permanency, and well-being outcomes for children.
This publication highlights the court improvement efforts of the initial eight Implementation Sites including their accomplishments and outcomes so far, and their short and long-term goals.
