John Shaw Field Scholarship

Thank you for your interest in the NCJFCJ’s John Shaw Field (JSF) Scholarship Program, established in 2015.

The John Shaw Field scholarship is available to any active judicial officer who is a member in good standing of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ).

Completion of a scholarship application form and registration for a tuition-based NCJFCJ program or conference is a requirement of the application process. Preference shall be given to member judges who have not previously attended an NCJFCJ sponsored program or received a John Shaw Field Scholarship.

Applications are currently being accepted for tuition scholarships to attend:

  • The 2025 National Conference on Juvenile Justice is scheduled for March 16-19, 2025, at the Boston Marriott Copley Place in Boston, Massachusetts.
    Applications are due no later than January 10, 2025.
  • The 88th Annual Conference is scheduled for July 20 – 23, 2025, at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park in Chicago, Illinois.
    Applications are due no later than May 9, 2025.

John Shaw Field (JSF) Scholarship Application

  • Judge, magistrate, attorney, child welfare professional, probation officer, etc.
    Membership will be verified at application review.
  • The mission of the NCJFCJ is to provide all judges, courts, and related agencies involved with juvenile, family, and domestic violence cases with the knowledge and skills to improve the lives of the families and children who seek justice.
  • Name, contact information, relationship, etc.
