Judge Kathleen Quigley, the NCJFCJ Board President-Elect, has been honored with a 2024 Champion For Children Award from the Children’s Action Alliance! This distinguished award recognizes her exceptional leadership and positive impact on the lives of children and families.
Under Judge Kathleen Quigley’s guidance, Pima County Juvenile Court has emerged as a leader in innovative practices, with a strong focus on prevention, strengthening family bonds, and linking individuals to critical resources that help address their challenges. As the Presiding Judge, she has introduced several impactful programs, such as the Dependency Alternative Program and the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) court, both of which aim to promote family stability, provide essential resources, and maintain family connections. Judge Quigley has also been instrumental in advocating for fairer treatment of low-income families within the juvenile justice system, including her key role in the successful elimination of juvenile court fees in Arizona in 2023. Her vision, problem-solving skills, and unwavering dedication to justice have made a lasting difference in the lives of Arizona’s children and families.
