The NCJFCJ held its National Multidisciplinary Institute on Child Sex Trafficking.

Nevada is ranked 3rd when it comes to human trafficking cases in the United States by the World Population Review.

The gathering is providing court teams with the tools they need to identify children who are being trafficked or at risk of being trafficked.

“We have so many of the judges and the people on the teams. They will look at the indicators and they already think there are kids they have overlooked in their communities.” says Cheri Ely, program director, NCJFCJ.

Ely also says it is important for parents to keep a close eye on their children’s communications, especially over social media.

If your child is suddenly hanging out with people you don’t recognize, it’s important to check in with them.
